About Evelin Marsh
Art is a story without words… my art is a way to share my story with the world.”
Evelin Marsh of Evelin Marsh Studio is a self-taught artist and certified residential designer.
Born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador, Evelin's artistic side was largely influenced by the textiles and traditional art of El Salvador. Living in the thriving capital of San Salvador, Evelin experienced firsthand the instability of a burgeoning democratic nation as it struggled to gain independence and a place on the global stage while maintaining the traditional concepts of family, home and celebration. Prior to formally dedicating herself to art, Evelin’s first success & entrepreneurial venture was studying Optometry (OD) and having her own optical business for 6 years in San Salvador, El Salvador. As a young single mother, she was inspired by the American Dream and moved to the United States in 2005 with her son and a dream to create. Today Evelin is a proud US citizen and bilingual in Spanish & English.
Evelin began painting as an outlet for the emotional process of beginning anew. Working as a residential home designer, her works were quickly sought after for staging in new homes.
With no formal training, she discovered a natural gift in painting abstract work that incorporates her love for color, organic elements and emphasis on structure and texture. Evelin's work is greatly inspired by the purity, energy, renewal and transformative nature of water. That's why the blue color is always present in her artwork. The color blue represents both the sky and the sea and is associated with open spaces, intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue also represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence. It’s been said “she speaks with her soul on the white board of a canvas”
Today, Evelin creates collections inspired by her love of family, travel and celebration. She also works on commission from clients throughout the country working closely with her patrons to bring unique emotional experiences to their homes.
She has also expanded into textile work and fashion, working with artisans from El Salvador and Latin America to bring the spirit of Latin America to fashion and accessories. Bringing her works to life in wearable art.
